About The Position

Walmart is recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets in Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete maintenance and repair work. Technicians support stores and associates, respond to emergency maintenance calls, diagnose equipment issues, document work, and follow applicable safety and environmental requirements. The position is based at a local retail store; the listed primary location is 2901 Market St, Warren, PA 16365-5216.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record report.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the last five years; no more than two moving violations in the last three years; no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years; and no serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Either vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and two years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a construction-related field involving commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or four years of experience in such a field.
Where required, HVAC-R or Mechanical Journeyman qualification.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use a work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental policies and guidelines.
