About The Position

This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores, contributing to overall store performance and customer satisfaction. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment, performing preventative maintenance, training store associates on equipment care, and managing work orders and maintenance logs. Success in this role is measured by reduced maintenance and repair expenses, ensured safety and functionality of equipment, well-trained store associates, accurate documentation, high customer satisfaction, and adherence to food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment.
  • Developing and adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Training Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.
  • Managing work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Communicating clearly, transparently, and respectfully with customers.
  • Handling changing and competing demands.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Servicing food equipment including combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, and tortilla makers.
  • Servicing grease and oil systems including oil/water separators and used cooking oil tanks.
  • Utilizing skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Performing material handling equipment maintenance.
