About The Position

The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, functional, and visually appealing facility environments. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing scheduled tasks, and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The position requires technical expertise in landscaping, equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance, along with effective communication to address facility needs and customer concerns. The Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability while upholding company standards and policies. Requirements

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining exterior service equipment, including mowing and weed control tools.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets, approve purchases, and coordinate material requisitions effectively.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving facility-related issues.
  • Competence in operating heavy machinery and performing vehicle maintenance with adherence to safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan, prioritize, and complete scheduled projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, vendors, and facility users.
  • Valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification at a minimum of a 90 day card.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain exterior facility equipment, including mowing and weed control tools, ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute scheduled projects, managing resources and workforce needs effectively.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot issues to maintain facility standards.
  • Manage purchases, verify receipts, and control costs for parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, to ensure safe conditions.
  • Lead third-party providers, providing coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in safe, functional condition through regular inspections and servicing.
