About The Position

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role involves managing seasonal maintenance, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and collaborates with management and third-party providers to uphold quality standards. By troubleshooting issues and delivering timely service, the technician contributes to a secure and well-maintained environment that meets operational and customer needs while promoting continuous improvement and adherence to company policies. The team ensures efficient facility operations by delivering expert HVAC and refrigeration services. Members collaborate to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols. Emphasizing clear communication, continuous improvement, and effective resource management, the team supports business objectives and customer satisfaction. By applying technical expertise and following established policies, the team consistently provides reliable, high-quality performance. Their efforts contribute to maintaining a safe and dependable environment for all stakeholders, ensuring facilities operate smoothly and meet organizational expectations.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Nice To Haves

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety and certification standards.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate purchases, cost estimates, and budget preparation for facility services and repairs.
  • Lead third-party providers and support associate development through coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies while promoting a safe and ethical work environment.
