About The Position

Working under the direction of Student Equity and Opportunity, Instructional Superintendent and relevant school principal, this position will provide supports to individual students and coaching to school staff. This is a temporary summer position only. Benefits are not offered for this position.

Requirements

  • Completion of Associate’s or BA/BS Degree in education, special education, child development, psychology or related field, or 1 – 3 years of related experience is required
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information

  • Ability to be flexible with schedule and workday
  • Ability to travel among school locations.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and car with appropriate insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Support building staff to: Implement specially designed instruction to improve outcomes for students with challenging behavior
  • Provide positive behavior supports
  • Support school staff in their implementation of behavior intervention plans and provide behavioral supports to students
  • Coach SE&O paraprofessional staff serving students with behavioral challenges
  • Model and coach for school staff the use of: Positive multi-tiered systems of supports
  • Replacement strategies/re-direction when implementing positive behavior supports and supporting students
  • Consult with the school’s problem-solving process to improve outcomes for students with behavioral challenges
  • Attend appropriate in-services training and required meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
