About The Position

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement
  • Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy
  • Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements
  • Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles
  • Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions)
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
  • Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software
  • Records student attendance daily; prepares for instruction that is aligned with the curriculum
  • Informs Site Leader about any health and safety concerns in a timely manner
  • Completes asynchronous professional learning by the deadline; completes teaching commitment for the entire session
  • Engages in coaching sessions and adapts practice based on feedback during coaching; manages all supplies and materials provided to support the delivery of instruction. Returns the supplies and materials upon completing the teaching commitment
  • Provide instructional support to students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP); provide student supervision as directed by the Site Leader; collaborate with other staff at the site to inform and support IEP goals and objectives
