About The Position

Caliber Collision is hiring a Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) – Body Apprentice to learn and perform all-purpose duties, including repairing damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition using industry-approved repair techniques. The apprentice is responsible for learning the program’s training material and developing hands-on skills. Under a mentor’s direction, the apprentice will learn to read estimates, identify damage, repair vehicles, and check work for quality and accuracy.

No prior experience is required. The program provides paid training and is intended to develop the skills needed for a career as a body technician. The position offers $20–$22 per hour, with earning potential of $70,000 or more per year after completing the program.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under Caliber’s insurance policy.
• Be able to perform consistent physical activity, including reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting, and lifting objects over 50 lbs.
• Be able to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Be able to prioritize competing tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous collision experience.
• Collision Vo-Tech certification.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform all-purpose duties, including repairing damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition using industry-approved repair techniques.
• Take responsibility for learning all training material and hands-on skills.
• Follow the mentor’s direction while learning to read estimates, identify damage, and repair vehicles.
• Check work for quality and accuracy.
• Complete required training and certifications relating to TAP.
