About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic for a technician role that performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in a safe and effective manner to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also operate large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, develop skills for a career path in service or operations management, and work with a team in a safety-focused environment. Mechanic’s tools of the trade may need to be provided by the employee. The job requires physical work, including bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
