About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers opportunities to work on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. Extensive on-the-job training is offered to eligible employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location needs.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
