About The Position

Briggs Industrial Solutions, part of Sammons Industrial, is seeking a skilled technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and material handling equipment. The role involves work at customer locations and in the shop, helping customers keep their equipment operating safely and reliably. The technician is expected to provide quality service, maintain accurate records and organized tools and parts, follow safety requirements, and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of forklift repair or related equipment experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose and solve technical problems.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certification on at least 65% of the Briggs Equipment product line.
• Experience using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Own tools.
• Strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a safety-first mindset.
• Comfortable traveling to customer sites, working in a shop environment, and participating in an on-call schedule as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school training.
• Hyster-Yale technician certifications.
• Welding or fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild forklifts and material handling equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and lifting components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, major component repairs, and basic welding.
• Provide service at customer locations or in the shop.
• Maintain accurate service records and organized parts and tools.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and safe.
• Follow company safety standards and OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Complete ongoing technical training.
• Support a team culture centered on safety, accountability, and helping one another.
