About The Position

Aggreko is hiring a Technician 1 Power Rotation based in Odessa, Texas. The role is based out of the Midland, Texas/Carlsbad, New Mexico service center and involves field work with daily local travel in a company vehicle. The technician may work independently or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment at the service center and customer sites. The position offers the opportunity to work overtime and weekends, with potential travel.

The technician performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and commissioning for power-generation equipment, including generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment failures at the shop and customer locations and completing the necessary repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4 years of experience working on Cummins diesel power or natural gas generators, as a mechanic or electrician, and/or in commercial work performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically weighing less than 75 pounds.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, depending on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Commission multiple canopy generators and a single containerized generator.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and customer locations and perform repairs.
• Set up and operate equipment at the shop and customer sites, independently or with other technicians.
• Travel locally in a company vehicle for field work; travel may also be required.
