Technician 1 Power - Odessa, TX
About The Position
Aggreko is hiring a Technician 1 Power based out of its Midland, TX/Carlsbad, NM service center, serving the Odessa, TX area. The role involves field work with daily local travel in a company vehicle. Technicians may work independently or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment at the service center and customer locations. Overtime and weekend work are available, and travel may be required. The technician performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and commissioning for power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment failures at the shop and customer sites and completing needed repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4 years of experience working on Cummins diesel power or natural gas generators, as a mechanic or electrician, and/or in commercial work involving inspections, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
- Ability to read and understand schematics.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically weighing less than 75 lbs.
- May be required, depending on customer requirements, to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Commission multiple canopy generators and single containerized generators.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and at customer locations, and complete repairs.
- Set up and operate equipment at the shop and customer sites, independently or with other technicians.
- Travel locally each day in a company vehicle to perform field work.
