About The Position

SS&C Black Diamond Trust seeks a Technical Writing & Research Analyst Intern to join its Client Services team. This role will focus on creating, updating, and centralizing key documents such as user guides, SOPs (standard operating procedures), and technical specifications. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent attention to detail, and excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams. You may also be asked to assist in analyzing application defects and documenting findings. This position requires 25–30 hours per week during standard business hours.

Requirements

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues from multiple angles
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Proven interpersonal, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Tettra or similar documentation tools
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills
  • Through at least Sophomore year working toward a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Finance (preferred)
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and in small groups
  • SQL knowledge is a plus

  • Some comfort level with navigating through various technology systems to troubleshoot and research software requests
  • Strong analytical skills to identify system and business impacts
  • Quick learner with experience working in fast-paced environments and the ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs for internal and external audiences
  • Proofread and review documents for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency with company standards
  • Document product functionality and troubleshooting procedures
  • Assist with troubleshooting and triaging client-reported issues
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented systems, identifying and documenting issues promptly
  • Analyze application defects and document findings
