The LXS Technical Writing Program Manager's key tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: PROGRAM STRATEGY AND GOVERNANCE Champion and lead the strategic implementation and maintenance of technical documentation programs or systems. Plan and strategize, document, and optimize the end-to-end documentation lifecycle process Partner with internal leadership or the clients to implement projects and other process-improvement related initiatives. CLIENT AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT Serve as the central point of contact and primary liaison for technical documentation. Lead program and project-level risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning. Implement a robust, multi-level communication plan to keep all stakeholders (internal stakeholders and clients) informed of the program or project's status, progress, successes, and challenges. TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP Lead formal business reviews with key stakeholders and executive leadership. Define, track, and maintain KPI or SLA attainment for their assigned function. Act as the program's thought leader by staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical communication, content strategy, and program management. TEAM MANAGEMENT Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure seamless execution of technical writing / cross-functional initiatives. Ensure the technical writing function is staffed appropriately and that team members have the necessary training and tools to meet the program's evolving objectives. The success of the LXS Program Manager will be measured through: Implementing technology-enabled documentation solutions that reflect a learner or user-centered philosophy. Maintaining client relationships. Development of team members (technical writers and senior technical writers). Generating or contributing to regular reports or business reviews.
