About The Position

Raytheon’s Technical Information Group in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer to support aerospace-defense engineering. The role develops hardware and software technical documentation for end-user Technical Manuals, documenting system architecture and producing applicable manuals in accordance with defined standards and contractual requirements. The individual works with engineers, technical writers, logistic support personnel, and system engineering organizations. The position is onsite in Huntsville and requires approximately 20% travel within the continental United States.

Requirements

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience developing technical documentation and technical writing.
Experience working with engineering documentation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required after day one.
Ability to travel within the continental United States approximately 20% of the time.
Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, and interact professionally with other organizations.

Nice To Haves

Experience with military systems and/or technical manual standards.
Experience with XML markup language.
