Technical Writer

GigaSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Giga is seeking a Founding Technical Writer to own their engineering voice externally. This role involves creating technical blog posts, teardowns, and narratives on a weekly cadence. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to interview technical individuals and translate their insights into engaging content that resonates with engineers. The quality bar for this role is set by publications like Anthropic's engineering blog and Ramp's Builders blog. The company is a fast-growing AI startup that has recently raised significant funding and works with Fortune 500 customers to deploy real-time AI agents for customer experience.

Requirements

  • Experience interviewing technical people and transforming their input into readable content.
  • Sufficient understanding of agents, LLMs, and production systems to ask insightful follow-up questions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior engineers, translating complex information without condescension.
  • Capacity to write with a distinct point of view, beyond adherence to a style guide.
  • Proven ability to ship content consistently on a set cadence without compromising quality.
  • Strong writing skills, demonstrated through a portfolio or previous work.
  • Familiarity with AI, agents, LLMs, and production systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Technical PMM, ex-DevRel, engineers who transitioned to writing, tech journalists who moved in-house, or serious AI/agents Substack writers.
  • Opinions about engineering blogs like Anthropic's or Ramp's.

Responsibilities

  • Publish 2 flagship technical posts per month (1,500–3,000 words, interview-driven, with byline) that engineers will share with their teams.
  • Publish 2 shorter pieces per month, such as tactical teardowns, customer engineering stories, or technical POV pieces.
  • Provide source material and editorial for major product launches, working directly with engineering to shape the narrative.
  • Establish and maintain a technical publishing rhythm that the engineering team is proud to share and candidates cite in interviews.

  • Catered lunch daily
  • Dinner stipend
  • $150/month wellness benefit (gym, fitness classes, mental health)
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Paid parental leave (12 weeks maternal, 6 weeks paternal)
