This role focuses on producing professional documentation for complex IT or technology environments. The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing and maintaining clear, professional technical documentation using standardized templates and conventions. This includes creating various types of documents such as SOPs, operational procedures, system and application documentation, infrastructure documentation, runbooks, support procedures, administrative procedures, and knowledge-base articles. The writer will also create and maintain incident-response, disaster-recovery, business-continuity, restoration, and recovery documentation in coordination with SMEs and leadership. A key aspect of the role is translating complex technical information and SME interviews into accurate documentation usable by technical staff and appropriate operational audiences. The writer will also create and refine diagrams, workflows, process maps, and supporting visuals using Microsoft Visio, and extensively use Microsoft 365 tools. The position requires applying consistent terminology, formatting, versioning, metadata, and managing document lifecycles. Collaboration with Business Analysts and SMEs for document reviews and approvals is essential. The role also involves helping to establish reusable templates, style standards, and documentation practices.
