About The Position

This role is for a Technical Writer with experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industries who is interested in developing into a Specifications Writer. The company will provide full training and ongoing support. The position is based in either the Dallas or New York offices and requires an onsite presence.

Requirements

• Working experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industries
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
