About The Position

We are seeking a technical writer / specifications writer to support our Technical Design team. Training will be provided. This role requires collaboration with architects and engineers to document building materials, assemblies, and systems, and to prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals. The position also involves providing technical input during the design and construction phases, conducting product research, and assisting with technical problem-solving and quality control of documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer
• Working experience in Architecture Engineering and Construction (A.E.C.) industries

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
