About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Writer with experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industries to join our team. This role is based in our Dallas (Downtown) or New York (Manhattan) offices and requires an onsite presence. While no prior specifications experience is necessary, we offer comprehensive training and ongoing support for individuals looking to develop into a Specifications Writer. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to expand their skillset.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer.
• Working experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industries.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems.
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content.
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction.
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses.
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations.
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed.
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications.
