About The Position

Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Store Engineering department is looking for a well-rounded Technical Writer. This role involves leading content development for procedures, manuals, job aids, LMS material, document formats, and instructional videos. The Technical Writer will consult subject matter experts to create clear and accurate content, write various types of procedures, create and edit instructional videos and LMS content, develop training materials, and manage document repositories. The position requires strong project management and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with tools like iMovie and SharePoint. The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and interpret technical documents is essential. This is a full-time position based in La Crosse, WI.

Requirements

  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and detail-orientation
  • Independently manage concurrent projects while adhering to deadline requirements
  • Ability to write well and clearly communicate detailed information to the intended audience in a manner that is easily understood
  • Skilled Microsoft Office user; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with iMovie, SharePoint, and Office 365
  • Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
  • Capable of communicating within all levels of an organization
  • Accurate/detail oriented
  • Willing to learn and perform a variety of job tasks
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and equipment manuals

Nice To Haves

  • Technical communication certification or degree preferred
  • Experience with AI tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead content developer of procedures, manuals, job aids, LMS material, document formats, and instructional videos.
  • Consult subject matter experts and distill input into clear, accurate, and easily understood content
  • Write operation, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and test procedures
  • Create and edit instructional videos
  • Create, proofread, and edit Learning Management System content
  • Develop training materials and assist in the delivery of training relative to major project initiatives
  • Manage standard document formats and document repositories
