In addition to our recent growth in Federal Civilian agencies, we are seeking to expand our capabilities in cloud development and footprint in national-security focused agencies within the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community. Cybermedia Technologies (CTEC) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer II(DHS Suitability) to join our team. CISA’s Stakeholder Engagement Division requires an integrated team to support council and sector governance, approximately 500 annual engagements, stakeholder coordination, policy and risk analysis, executive communications, records, and contract management. The work spans unclassified and classified environments and requires products that are accurate, accessible, compliant, and ready for government use. Provide technical editing, quality assurance, and compliance review for CISA executive products, reports, sector materials, and advisory deliverables. The role owns the details that make complex government products clear, consistent, accessible, and ready for release.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in technical writing, editing, and publishing.
  • Demonstrated experience creating Section 508-compliant documents.
  • Excellent grammar, synthesis, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple products and review cycles under firm deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS Fitness Determination (Public Trust/DHS Suitability); U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CISA, DHS, or other federal-agency experience.
  • Familiarity with federal or DHS-specific style guides.
  • Advanced proficiency with Word, Acrobat, Drupal, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit executive summaries, reports, studies, memoranda, briefing materials, meeting records, white papers, and outreach products.
  • Conduct substantive and copy editing for clarity, accuracy, organization, consistency, and tone.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Drupal, and related tools to create templates and publication-ready products.
  • Create or remediate Section 508-compliant documents, including tables, graphics, and presentation materials.
  • Track document packages through drafting, coordination, comment adjudication, approval, version control, and delivery.
  • Apply DHS/CISA templates, branding, style, records-management, and quality requirements.
  • Work with SMEs and analysts to validate technical content without changing its substantive meaning.
  • Maintain production logs and meet recurring and rapid-response deadlines.
