About The Position

Core4ce is searching for a technically inclined analyst/writer to fill an opening on a team supporting investigations into the defense-related industrial base supply chain. In this role, you will become part of a collaborative team that performs research and analysis across a wide range of technical fields, employing a variety of information sources, and synthesizing an array of data types to assess R&D, manufacturing, and other activities that support current and future military programs. This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years depending on experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, primarily MS Word, along with Excel.
  • Must be adept at internet-based searching.
  • Must be adept at database mining.
  • Must have high quality writing and data organization skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in providing and taking direction in a small team working environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Tableau.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or experience in Air Force or other military environments.
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge or experience in government budgeting and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of reports, in collaboration/coordination with teammates, assessing markets, supply chains, businesses, and technologies directly related to the defense industrial supply chain.
  • Participates in the preparation of various reports, ranging from a few page analysis of a particular company up to >100 page full market scope reports such as a comprehensive annual industrial base capabilities report to Congress.
  • Develops research and analysis, assessment, fusion, and documentation of a variety of data fields of interest: Public and private business financial data, such as revenue statements, cash flows, and balance sheets; Market synthesis, including horizontal and vertical markets, supply chains, and substitutes/alternatives; Department of Defense budgets and contracts data mining and analysis.
  • Non-expert technical comprehension, including ability to understand boundaries of technical item definition, functionality, and use.
  • Conduct literature reviews of targeted areas in the global innovation space (e.g. research and development trends, patents, etc).
  • Complete reviews to establish and convey US Air Force and other military component needs.
  • Create data visualizations derived from project research.
  • Ensure all documents are "one voice" through the development of templates, styles guide (to supplement the AF Tongue and Quill), and other editorial tools.
  • Ensure all documents are framed on a solid design and follow acceptable design standards for documentation.
  • Manage your work, submit regular progress reports, and stay connected with the team and the program manager.
  • Support the development of a repeatable knowledge capture process for the ongoing research and reporting.
  • Maintain a reliable documentation repository and data source collection.
