About The Position

The Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist develops and maintains technical documentation supporting ADO platforms and initiatives. This includes architecture documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, user guides, security artifacts, and knowledge base content. The role works closely with program, engineering, and security teams to ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, and usability supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Requirements

  • Experience in technical writing, documentation standards, and diagramming.
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field or discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Office, SharePoint).
  • US Citizen.
  • Must comply with FAA System and access requirements.
  • Must meet updated ID requirements.
  • Willing and able to update current forms of ID in a timely manner to complete the suitability process successfully.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting agile or technical programs is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains technical documentation supporting ADO platforms and initiatives.
  • Creates architecture documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, user guides, security artifacts, and knowledge base content.
  • Works closely with program, engineering, and security teams to ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, and usability.
  • Translates business processes into workflows.
  • Develops security and integration requirements.
  • Creates and documents design, development, and implementation processes.
  • Provides research and writing for professional documents, including program reports and procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Provides analysis and compilation of diverse policy, technical, statistical, demographic, and financial information.
  • Edits professional documents for content, format, flow and integrity in conformance with best practices.
  • Determines the suitability of material for target audience.
  • Involved in projects from planning stage.
  • Provides additional or missing materials and edits written copy.
  • Translates complex technical content into clear documentations.
