About The Position

This position is for an Onsite/Local Technical Support Analyst with experience in Windows, SurfacePros, SharePoint, MS Office, Teams, GMail, wireless, help desk/ticketing, and training. The role is located at 731 Harrison Ave. Salem, VA 24153, VA VDOT and is expected to last 6-12+ months, with potential for annual extensions beyond June 30, 2023. Candidates must be local to the Salem, VA area and will be required to work ONSITE daily, Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no exceptions. The analyst will work with end users within the assigned district. A valid driver's license and a clear driving history are mandatory, as the role involves driving a state vehicle. The position will primarily focus on working with field staff on new technology and device support, encouraging innovation with technology to perform daily job functions.

Requirements

• Extensive skill with use of Microsoft Desktop products including but not limited to Windows, SurfacePros, SharePoint, MS Office, MS Teams and GMail (5 Years)
• Skill in troubleshooting tools and managing desktop and laptop computers as well as wireless devices (5 Years)
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals and groups (5 Years)
• Experience working with help desk request tracking and reporting tools (5 Years)
• Strong Customer Service skills that include a "customer first" attitude (5 Years)
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clear driving history
• Candidates local to the Salem, VA area required
• Required to work ONSITE daily M-F 8-5pm

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of computer/mobile device applications and how they operate in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with creating training documentation.
