About The Position

The Technical Specialist creates, revises, and maintains bills of material (BOMs) and routing information used to generate shop work orders. The role consults with Design, manufacturing, operations, materials, and accounting on product and process changes and new product development, and provides cost estimates for new products. The position reviews and loads technical drawings into the production system, develops routings for product manufacture, and represents manufacturing and operations in new-product meetings.

Requirements

• Must understand shop processes and linkages to build routings for manufacturing various products.
• Must be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

• SAP experience preferred.
• Lean experience or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and load technical drawings into the production system.
• Revise and maintain current BOMs and routings in accordance with changes made by Design Engineering.
• Create new BOMs and routings for new products.
• Consult with manufacturing engineering on processes for product maintenance and new product development.
• Represent manufacturing and operations at MRCCB and other new-product meetings.
• Interact with departments as needed, including sales, customer service, engineering, and operations.
• Provide cost estimates for marketing and design related to new product development.
• Understand shop processes and linkages to build routings for manufacturing various products.
• Consult with Design, manufacturing, operations, materials, and accounting regarding product and process changes and new product development.
