About The Position

Hurco Companies, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Technical Specialist to support our Hurco and Takumi product lines. This position serves as a key technical resource for customers, distributors, Field Service Engineers, and internal teams by providing technical support, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, and helping drive solutions to recurring product and service concerns. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machine service experience, a solid understanding of CNC controls and PLCs, and the ability to troubleshoot problems effectively while providing exceptional customer support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of CNC machine tool service experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation, electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time during the first year for training and product familiarization.
  • After the first year, ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the customer experience by providing timely, professional, and effective technical support over the phone.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex hardware, software, CNC control, PLC, and machine-related issues.
  • Identify recurring product and service issues and develop action plans to improve reliability and reduce repeat problems.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of Hurco and Takumi products and accurately identify replacement parts for the entire product line.
  • Work closely with Field Service Engineers, distributors, customers, Engineering, and other internal teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Some travel to customer locations, as needed, to assist Field Service with the diagnosis and repair of Hurco and Takumi products.
  • Provide technical support and training to distributors, service engineers, and customers on new products, controls, and technologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute technical documentation, including standard work instructions, machine start-up and demonstration guides, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting information, and service bulletins.
  • Follow up on and expedite parts orders to support emergent repairs and minimize machine downtime.
  • When assigned, develop and deliver Technical Service Training Programs for Field Service Engineers, distributors, and customers.
