About The Position

As a Technical Specialist in Steering Systems Controls & Electronics, you will develop, build, calibrate, and validate systems responsible for chassis and vehicle dynamics control. You will collaborate with teams across engineering to develop vehicle-dynamics functions from concept through production. The role covers electric power steering control systems for multiple vehicle programs, including development of requirements and specifications, prototype software development and calibration, and system-level validation in virtual, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL), and vehicle environments. You will work across multiple complex projects in a demanding environment and travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of automotive experience.
  • Strong experience developing and delivering steering control systems.
  • Experience with Vector tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, and CDMStudio.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics theory.
  • Hands-on practical experience in prototype development.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and requirements management tools.
  • Familiarity with software development, including Matlab, Python, CAPL scripting, or model-based development.
  • Ability to read and work with electrical schematics, with a sound understanding of electrical communication principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or related technical discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher education is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, using fundamental principles and data-driven action.
  • Desire for continual learning.
  • Driven-vehicle attributes development experience is a plus.
  • Strong fundamentals-based problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain requirements and specifications for electric power steering control systems from initial concept to start of production (SOP) for multiple vehicle programs.
  • Work with Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Dynamics, ADAS, and external suppliers to design, build, deliver, test, and calibrate prototype software in virtual, HiL, and vehicle environments.
  • Create, execute, and document system-level design validation plans, including virtual, HiL, and vehicle-based activities, to bring concepts and prototype software to customer readiness.
  • Work across multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.
