About The Position

Our client is seeking a Technical Specialist II to support the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Safety, Health, and Emergency Preparedness (SHEP). This position is ideal for an experienced IT support or application support professional who enjoys troubleshooting systems, training users, managing enterprise applications, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders. The Technical Specialist II will support Treasury’s emergency communications and incident management platforms, including Blackberry AtHoc and Everbridge Visual Command Center (VCC), ensuring systems remain secure, operational, and ready to support continuity and emergency response activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Treasury personnel, IT teams, and third-party vendors to maintain system functionality, support users, and enhance operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, IT systems, or technical operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating resolution with internal teams and vendors.
  • Experience supporting end users through training, technical assistance, or customer support.
  • Experience maintaining user accounts, permissions, databases, or distribution groups.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with at least three years of residency in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk (MBI/Tier 2) background investigation.
  • Must comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user assistance for Treasury’s emergency communications platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate issue resolution with Treasury IT staff and software vendors.
  • Support software updates, testing activities, and system enhancements.
  • Assist with user account management, database maintenance, and distribution list administration.
  • Ensure system availability and operational readiness for exercises and real-world emergency events.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, and training materials.
  • Conduct training sessions for Treasury employees, accountability officers, and system users.
  • Provide ongoing customer support and guidance to stakeholders using emergency communication tools.
  • Assist with user onboarding and system adoption efforts.
  • Support emergency preparedness exercises and continuity operations activities.
  • Maintain technical and operational documentation related to supported systems.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to emergency communications.
  • Support cybersecurity and compliance activities, including documentation, audit preparation, and remediation tracking.
  • Collaborate with Treasury offices, IT teams, contractors, and software vendors to address operational and technical requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, working groups, and technical discussions related to emergency communications technologies.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
