Technical Sourcing Manager

Jabil
•$115,500 - $207,900

About The Position

The Technical Sourcing Manager manages supplier selection and part validation for Design, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Risk/Cost Reduction projects. The role applies Jabil's supply chain and sourcing organizations, tools, templates, and processes to identify, validate, and deploy components appropriately into the supply base. It requires adapting quickly to changing project requirements and working with urgency. Supporting multiple projects or customers and having indirect reports may be required. For design projects, the manager oversees BOM pricing across design and mass-production milestones, resolves cost differences and supply chain impacts, coordinates supplier Design for Manufacturability feedback, manages supplier selection with commodity management, negotiates with suppliers, mitigates risk, guides buyers, maintains clean-to-build part status, and drives Early Supplier Involvement. For NPI projects, the role develops supply chain strategies for Jabil-owned components, guides component and supplier qualification—including DFM, FOT, PPAP, and APQP—and works with buyers and suppliers to optimize inventory. For Risk/Cost Reduction projects, the manager supports cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply assurance; leads purchasing efforts on urgent quality and line-down constraints; negotiates with suppliers; and develops value propositions with guidance from senior colleagues and business stakeholders. The position is accountable for sourcing deliverables using Jabil's current templates, software, and processes; cost estimating custom parts; ensuring selected components are qualified and ready for procurement before production handoff; and identifying and deploying process improvements. It also requires compliance with applicable safety, health, and company security procedures. Travel through the US and Mexico may be required, up to 30%.
