About The Position

The Director, Strategic Technical Sourcing develops and implements strategic sourcing plans aligned with PayPal’s business goals. The role manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and drives cost-saving initiatives. It also analyzes market trends and supplier performance to optimize procurement processes and support regulatory compliance.

The Director executes the organization’s sourcing strategy, works with internal stakeholders to define requirements, evaluates supplier performance, improves sourcing operations, and identifies reliable sources, methods, and vendors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute the organization’s sourcing strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and delivers value.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms, cost savings, and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and service requirements and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
• Develop and use scorecards to measure and evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sourcing operations’ efficiency and effectiveness.
• Explore and evaluate new sources, methods, and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
