About The Position

At Roblox, we are growing and looking for a Technical Sourcer to help build, scale, and influence our recruiting landscape. We are a fun and collaborative team focused on recruiting engineering talent. This person is a strong communicator, collaborator, and leads by example. Successful Builders embrace change and we encourage bringing in fresh ideas and a culture of feedback. As a Technical Sourcer you will directly impact the growth of the company and support our scaling efforts. The role is 6-month, with extensions possible depending on performance and business needs. We follow a hybrid schedule out of our San Mateo office, requiring in-office presence Tuesday–Thursday.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of recruiting experience, 5 + years experience as a sourcer
  • 3+ years in depth technical domain experience in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines while delivering quality results
  • Demonstrated success hiring research scientists, ML engineers, applied AI practitioners, and data leaders in highly competitive markets
  • A strong track record of influencing stakeholders and solving complex recruiting challenges with creativity and innovation.
  • Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System to maintain candidate pipelines
  • A data-driven approach with the ability to analyze metrics, surface insights, and inform strategy.
  • A startup mentality and open to thinking outside of the box
  • Ability to be able to switch from sourcing to full-cycle recruiting on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Drive hiring for critical technical roles across Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Research.
  • Proactively source and engage top talent through Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, GitHub, arXiv, google scholar, and AI/ML research communities, amongst others.
  • Influence and improve processes to help the team work smarter, faster, and at scale.
  • Partner with engineering and data leaders to define role scopes, assess capability gaps, and shape hiring strategy across emerging domains like generative AI, LLMs, computer vision, and infrastructure automation.
  • Share talent market insights with hiring managers to guide decisions on leveling, compensation, and candidate profiles.
  • Mentor and coach hiring managers and interviewers, raising the bar on calibration, evaluation, and selection practices.
  • Champion a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects our values and culture at every stage of the process.
  • Ensure operational excellence with clean pipelines, accurate data, and strong ATS hygiene.
  • Use data and insights to diagnose bottlenecks, measure impact, and tell compelling stories to stakeholders.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to technical leadership — bringing structured insights on global AI/ML talent dynamics and shaping long-term hiring strategies.
