About The Position

Toffler Associates is seeking a Technical SME in Imagery Science to support complex client work. Consultants are accountable for the quality of their work, engagement health, team performance, and client relationships. The role requires working onsite in Bethesda, Maryland, and an active, maintained TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph. The position calls for technical expertise spanning EO/IR systems, sensing technologies, signal processing, telecommunications, and research and development or test and evaluation. The successful candidate will bring experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules. Toffler expects practitioners to put team success first; lead through sound judgment and preparation; remain humble, curious, and receptive to feedback; communicate reliably and surface risks early; and strengthen clients, teams, and the firm through their work.

  • Comprehensive understanding of EO/IR systems standards, procedures, and practices.
  • Expertise with microwave, VHF, UHF, or infrared wavelength systems.
  • Experience developing, implementing, testing, or analyzing signal processing, optimization, or machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience or equivalent education using test and measurement equipment relevant to advanced sensing technologies, such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF test platforms, wireless communications testbeds, biometric sensor test systems, or commercial off-the-shelf sensing devices.
  • Experience or equivalent education involving telecommunications systems, RF sensing, signal processing, biometric sensing modalities, and/or advanced sensor system design and evaluation.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary R&D or T&E team.
  • Experience creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field, with at least 4 years of work experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience with programming languages or tools commonly used in sensing, data analysis, or experimental automation, such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or embedded systems software.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Intelligence Community, including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition.
  • Awareness of supply chain, security, and integration considerations for commercial off-the-shelf sensing technologies, telecommunications hardware, and RF components.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex client work and be accountable for its quality and the health of the engagement.
  • Support team performance and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Apply expertise in EO/IR systems and advanced sensing technologies, including relevant signal processing, optimization, or machine learning work.
