About The Position

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for providing technical assistance to internal and external customers of GCC of America. This role involves developing and maintaining systems and processes to ensure that all manufactured cement products meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels in a cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused technical leader with a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in the cement, concrete, construction, or related manufacturing industries. They have a strong understanding of cement products, concrete mix designs, concrete performance, and chemical admixtures, along with the ability to build trusted relationships with customers, engineers, architects, DOT personnel, and industry stakeholders. This candidate excels at delivering technical presentations, training customers and employees, analyzing product performance and market trends, and partnering with operations teams to drive quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as proficiency in statistical process control and business software. The successful candidate is a self-motivated professional who combines technical expertise, customer advocacy, and industry leadership to support GCC's reputation for quality and service while driving growth in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing or construction related environment
  • Demonstrated ability to create and make formal presentations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistical process control techniques.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computer and software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize and to work independently
  • Strong understanding of cement products, concrete mix designs, concrete performance, and chemical admixtures.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, engineers, architects, DOT personnel, and industry stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control and business software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure manufactured cement products meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels cost-effectively.
  • Promote the use of GCC of America products through active membership in professional organizations and societies.
  • Coordinate quality and performance dialogue between GCCA’s plants and the marketplace through regularly scheduled quality meetings.
  • Study and analyze significant trends in the performance of all competing cements in the marketplace and present those findings to GCCA Management.
  • Present technical information to informed audiences on concrete mix designs, concrete characteristics and applications.
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to the use of GCC of America products.
  • Stay current on new technology in the cement and concrete industry and be able to address changes in the marketplace.
  • Build relationships and maintain trust with customers.
  • Call on specifying agencies such as engineers, architects, Department of Transportation personnel, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempt to convince prospective client(s) of the desirability and practicability of products or services offered.
  • Propose changes in processes, or use of materials and services which would result in cost reduction or improvement in operations.
  • Provide technical training to employees of customers and to employees of GCC of America.
