STUDENT-Technical Services Assistant - A-Spanish
About The Position
The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is seeking an advanced language student to serve as an undergraduate teaching assistant (T.A.) for Spanish. Following a brief training program, the teaching assistant will lead 50-minute drill sessions in the Italian language for first-year students. These T.A. sessions will supplement the 3 hours of instruction provided by the course instructor. The T.A. will lead recitation sessions for groups of no more than 13 students to reinforce material introduced in class by the instructor. The program aims to help T.A.s become comfortable in their roles and provide effective drill sessions for first-year students.
Requirements
- Advanced language student
- Ability to lead drill sessions in Italian
- Comfortable in front of a classroom

Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with the course instructor to discuss material and coordinate exercises.
- Organize and prepare all exercises for drill sessions.
- Lead drills and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Take attendance at all drill sessions and report attendance records to the course instructor.
- Communicate any concerns to the course instructor or the T.A. Program Director, Annette Levine.
Benefits
- Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
