About The Position

Universal Orlando Resort is offering several Technical Services Apprenticeship Programs designed to train individuals for skilled trade positions. These intensive programs combine structured classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job training (OJT) to develop the necessary technical skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience. Apprentices will be expected to take ownership of their learning through self-discipline and initiative, actively participate in all training phases, attend custom-designed courses, and complete assignments in a timely manner. The available programs are: * **Utilities Journeyman (Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC):** A 4-year program focused on installation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment within Plumbing, Electrical, or HVAC tracks, leading to a qualified and licensed Journeyman. * **Utilities Restaurant Equipment:** A 3-year program focused on the service, repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial and industrial restaurant kitchen equipment, preparing individuals to become qualified Restaurant Equipment Technicians. * **Ride & Show (Mechanical/Electrical):** A 2-year program involving educational courses, role rotations, and OJT to gain exposure and experience on various systems including basic ride theory, electrical, control, and mechanical systems, leading to a qualified Ride & Show Technician.

Requirements

  • 1 year of continuous service with UO by application deadline
  • Minimum 8 attendance credits
  • No written performance counselings within the last 6 months (safety included)
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Physically capable of performing essential job functions, including the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights up to 210 feet
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License

  • Attendance to a 2026 in-person Apprenticeship Information Session for the specific trade program of interest

Responsibilities
