About The Position

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join its industry-leading sales team. This role is responsible for revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts within the nuclear power industries. The representative will utilize a consultative sales approach to build relationships with existing customers by understanding their key business drivers and executing system assurance programs. Additionally, they will convert strategic competitive accounts and sell new technologies to current customers. The position is field-based and requires regular travel between customer sites, with a strong field presence. The territory covers Dresden, LaSalle, and Clinton, IL, within approximately a 100-mile radius of Joliet, IL. The ideal candidate should be located in the western or southern suburbs of Chicago for convenient access to the territory, though location flexibility may be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of technical sales or field sales support experience
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
  • Experience in power generation, nuclear operations, industrial water treatment, chemistry, engineering, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
  • Working knowledge of OR operations, wet end chemistry, pulp mill operations

Responsibilities

  • Supporting industrial water treatment programs that are critical to safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.
  • Monitoring and optimizing cooling-water and related treatment programs, chemical feed systems, water chemistry, and digital monitoring/control technologies.
  • Performing routine field testing, equipment inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, chemical inventory management, and program-performance reporting.
  • Working closely with station chemistry, operations, maintenance, and other customer stakeholders to identify risks, resolve treatment challenges, and improve plant reliability and thermal performance.
  • Supporting condenser and heat-exchanger performance, biological and scale control, corrosion management, lake/raw-water management, and other site-specific water applications.
  • Participating in periodic plant outages, inspections, technical reviews, KPI meetings, and business reviews.
  • Maintaining strong procedural adherence, human-performance practices, and a safety-first mindset appropriate for highly regulated nuclear generating facilities.
  • Developing strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to deliver measurable operational, reliability, sustainability, and economic value.
