Position Summary The Technical Resource (TR) provides advanced technical expertise and operational support to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance within the department. The TR serves as the subject matter expert and collaborates closely with Supervisors, Medical Scientific Staff, and Quality teams to support technical excellence and continuous improvement. Status: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Schedule: This is a float position, requiring full availability, from Sunday to Saturday, potentially mornings, evenings, graveyards or as operationally needed. Discipline: High Volume Chemistry Additional Information: TRs are also expected to complete projects that Go-Live on Sunday evenings up to Monday mornings. Requirements

  • Registration through CAMLPR pathways or CSMLS certification.
  • Minimum of the last 3 years’ experience working in the department.
  • Recognized Subject Matter Expertise in the discipline.
  • Recent experience with LIS UAT/CAT testing and departmental training.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with QA/QC programs, project teams, and SOP writing is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and related laboratory software (e.g., EP Evaluator) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance on testing, procedures, and protocol interpretation.
  • Support complex troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and validation processes to maintain turnaround times.
  • Lead quality control, quality assurance, EQA submissions, and competency assurance programs.
  • Coordinate training, orientation, and ongoing competency development for staff.
  • Participate in LIS UAT/CAT testing and post‑implementation validations.
  • Contribute to methodology and instrument validation, workflow improvements, and SOP development/updates.
  • Ensure compliance with DAP, ISO, WHMIS, and Environmental Health & Safety standards.
  • Apply LEAN principles to improve bench processes and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across sites to support standardized provincial protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold organizational values.
