About The Position

Hartzell Propeller LLC is a world-class engineering and manufacturing company offering the broadest range of propeller systems in the aviation industry. We design, develop, test, manufacture, and support constant-speed aluminum and composite propeller systems for all categories of aircraft, ranging from general aviation to military applications. The company traces its history to 1914, where a relationship between Orville Wright and Robert Hartzell led to the manufacture of the first Hartzell propeller in 1917. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of general aviation systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • In-depth understanding of blue print reading and drawings
  • Ability to visualize from sketches, photos and verbal descriptions
  • Knowledge and use of standard hand tools and measuring tools
  • Basic understanding of inspection methods
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Basic understanding of Aviation vocabulary
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to present technical information
  • Basic computer skills; (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ownership – Take ownership in resolving field issues, spearheading any required Root Cause/Corrective Actions within Hartzell to eliminate future occurrences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide "help desk" support via phone and e-mail to users and servicers of HPL’s products.
  • Conduct training classes and seminars on operating, servicing, and maintaining Hartzell products.
  • Track field problems and work with the Product Engineering Group to develop solutions.
  • Write and review service literature.
  • Provide on-site support for operators and OEM’s.
  • Attend trade shows and visit operators and aviation facilities to answer technical questions and perform technical audits.
  • Adjudicate warranty claims.
  • Provide after-hours AOG support.
