About The Position

EvolutionIQ is seeking a Technical Recruiter to help scale its engineering organization by attracting and hiring technical talent, including Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, AI Engineers, and other specialized technical roles. The recruiter will partner with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand their needs, develop sourcing strategies, and provide a strong candidate experience. The role supports teams building AI products for the insurance industry.

This is a 1099 contract role starting at three months, with the possibility of extension. The position offers hybrid work from the NYC or Chicago office and from home; working from either office a couple of days per week is preferred.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of technical recruiting experience, preferably in startup or scaleup environments.
• Proficiency with an applicant tracking system and familiarity with other systems such as LinkedIn Recruiter, G-Suite, and Slack.
• Expertise writing compelling sourcing messages and attracting passive candidates.
• Enthusiastic, positive outlook and a high level of productivity while working independently with team and management support.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly recruiting meetings with hiring managers and stakeholders, demonstrating quantifiable progress in filling roles.
• Conduct approximately five technical candidate interviews each day.
• Strategically source 50–100+ candidates per week, targeting a response rate of 20% or higher.
• Use resources such as job ads, sourcing tools, and LinkedIn Recruiter to build a pipeline of strong candidates.
• Pitch and sell candidates on the opportunity and work directly with hiring managers.
