About The Position

RQ Construction, LLC, a subsidiary of DPR Construction, is seeking a Technical Construction Trades Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition Department based in Jacksonville, FL. This is a newly created position designed to support the growth of our Self-Perform team and represents a unique opportunity to set the tone for how we identify, assess, and hire top qualified talent for our in-house skilled trades workforce. The Technical Recruiter will play a key role in supporting the hiring needs of our Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Trades teams, ensuring we bring on skilled and qualified trade-level candidates in alignment with our company's Mission, Vision, and Values. This position plays a critical role in the candidate selection process and works closely with trade supervisors (Electrical, Mechanical, & Building Trades), and department leadership to evaluate technical skill, cultural fit, and long-term potential within the organization.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of experience supporting the technical vetting of candidates (construction industry preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assess candidate qualifications beyond a resume.
  • Working knowledge of ATS platforms; prior experience with federal contractor compliance (EEOC, OFCCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel between the Jacksonville office (Near Baptist South), and our Logistics Yard (North Jax-32226) for on-site candidate assessments or hiring events. May occasionally travel to regional job sites as needed in FL & GA.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certifications in HR, trades, or related fields preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering or evaluating hands-on skills assessments, reading/math aptitude tests, or similar tools highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person interviews, including structured technical evaluations and cultural fit assessments. Interview location based in North Jacksonville (32226) and will require on-site presence approximately 3 times per week.
  • Administer and evaluate hands-on skills tests, basic math, and reading comprehension assessments to determine candidate proficiency and readiness for hire in conjunction with trade Superintendents.
  • Provide informed hiring recommendations based on candidate assessments (technical skill, experience, and test results).
  • Maintain detailed and accurate candidate records within our Applicant Tracking System, iSolved, in compliance with internal policies and federal contracting requirements.
  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of qualified trades candidates through community outreach, job fairs, technical schools, and industry networks.
  • Uphold and promote RQ's values in every candidate interaction, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Ensure recruiting practices are consistent with OFCCP, EEO, and federal contractor regulations.
