About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to help hiring end-to-end for our Engineering team in New York City. You will report directly to the Head of Talent, and be the primary driver of technical hiring at one of New York’s hottest AI startups. You will be operating in a high-velocity, early-stage environment where the briefs are sometimes ambiguous, the brand is still being built, and the infrastructure you depend on is being designed in parallel with the work. This is also more than a delivery role. You will also be a key contributor and true partner to our CTO and engineering hiring managers. This is an end-to-end role - from implementing, sourcing, helping build playbooks/strategies, and seamlessly scheduling candidates and offering a great candidate experience. This is a rare opportunity to help scale a Series A company backed by a16z. This role is for someone ambitious who wants to step up and be the go-to Technical recruiter, this is a great opportunity to help scale the organization's ambitious hiring targets.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in technical recruiting
  • At least 2 years of experience operating in a startup or growth stage company.
  • Expertise and a track record of recruiting top Engineering talent
  • A self-starter who is result-oriented, resourceful, innovative, intellectually curious, and who takes initiative and risks
  • No ego and highly committed to deliver.
  • Open learning mindset and fast learner, demonstrated capacity to quickly grasp new complex topics
  • Capability, credibility, and consultative skills to influence senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working within the ambiguity of a small, growing startup with a strong desire to turn that ambiguity into a well-defined machine.
  • Target driven, detail oriented and approachable with the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Background at a high-growth B2B SaaS startup, especially if you've helped recruit at a Series A / B startup
  • Proficiency with Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter

Responsibilities

  • Help hiring end-to-end for our Engineering team in New York City.
  • Be the primary driver of technical hiring at one of New York’s hottest AI startups.
  • Operate in a high-velocity, early-stage environment.
  • Act as a key contributor and true partner to our CTO and engineering hiring managers.
  • Implement, source, help build playbooks/strategies, and seamlessly schedule candidates.
  • Offer a great candidate experience.

  • Help scale the organization's ambitious hiring targets.
  • Find people who do not know they are looking.
  • Build pipelines in markets without brand recognition, using creative outreach, community mapping, and relentless curiosity.
  • Run 20+ interviews a week without letting quality slip.
  • Process feedback quickly, keep pipelines moving, and do not lose candidates to slow decisions.
  • Improve the hiring system and build repeatable processes.
  • Maintain a fast, respectful, and high-quality candidate experience at every touchpoint.
  • Conduct structured interviews and coordinate hiring processes from first contact through offer.
  • Move quickly without sacrificing quality; maintain a high candidate-to-hire conversion rate.
  • Close 3-4 engineering hires per month.
