About The Position

Provides technical support for programs and organizational activities to convey information, determine compliance, and resolve controversial situations; acts as a resident expert in the implementation and maintenance of technical program guidelines; perform related work. This position is expected to work fully on-site between both departments at our campus in Boise, Idaho. The Boise State Academic Testing Center (ATC) and Proctoring and Certification Services (PACS) provide secure, proctored testing for in-person and remote exams, supports students with approved accommodations, and ensures compliance with university policies and legal requirements. Services include scheduled in-person exams, make-up testing, placement testing, vendor testing, and remote proctoring through the campus supported virtual proctoring tool, all of which are designed to maintain exam integrity and accessibility. Both the ATC and PACS have significantly expanded capacity, improved scheduling efficiency, and implemented strict security protocols to support the university’s growing demand for secure specialized and remote testing.

Requirements

  • Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors.
  • Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs.
  • Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues.
  • Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations.
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system.
  • Composing and proofreading business correspondence.
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices and data management.
  • Experience conducting sensitive fact-finding interviews.
  • Experience storing, retrieving and compiling information in a report format using database software and using spreadsheet software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a university or college testing center.
  • Experience with managing remote proctoring.
  • High proficiency with Google Suite office productivity tools especially Google Sheets.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Academic Testing Center’s (ATC) Liaison with Proctoring & Certifications Services (PACS).
  • Quality control review of Proctoring sessions.
  • Configures remote and in-person exams for each professor’s specifications before tests are administered.
  • Works with Educational Access Center (EAC) to ensure special testing accommodations are met for individual students.
  • Responsible for communicating with a broad audience.
  • Works with professor and students to find approved remote proctoring locations.
  • Proctor exams at either location as needed.
  • Student Conduct Board Member for Dean of Students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
