About The Position

The Quality Analyst (SW Development) is responsible for performing scenario-based testing from the perspectives of various client roles. The purpose is to investigate problems, identify root cause and document findings to improve software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of significant Quality Assurance background, including functional, integration, and regression testing with direct experience in the development and implementation of test data and exposure to industry leading Quality Assurance related testing and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational databases with proven competency in solving complex problems related to data related software testing with a strong working knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and associated tools.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Windows application design and testing products and methodology with proficiency in multi-platform web browser testing products and methodology with demonstrated skills in analysis, documentation, and presentation tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience in iterative development cycles with frequent releases and experience with “Scrum” methodologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Optimization and tuning of SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • 4-5 years of experience with platform engineering tools such as Bitbucket, Gradle, Octopus, Artifactory.
  • 1-2 years of experience with use of MongoDB and use of MQL.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, publishes and executes test plan and other functional documents.
  • Investigates problems, identifies their root cause, and clearly documents findings.
  • Collaborate on the authority of test plan development and test cases & scenarios with developers and business analysts.
  • Accepts, analyzes and prioritizes system bugs as reported by internal and external end users, assuring compliance with Q&A standards.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring in daily activities to new staff members.
  • Raises usability concerns and proposes solutions to problems after performing thorough investigation, considering the needs of the client.
  • Proposes suggestions for additions and improvements to the software.
  • Identify and track testing issues in change tracking tool(s) to resolve software defects and issues.
  • Identify, define, and implement testing process and procedure improvements to continuously enhance product and process quality using a Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment framework (CI/CD)
  • Train and mentor new software testers and other project stakeholders on testing processes, procedures, and framework.
  • Participate in other testing and process improvement projects, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
  • Sees emerging patterns and opportunities, and adapts quickly and easily to new information, changing conditions or unexpected events. Facilitates and communicates change across the team or organization to drive adoption.
  • Conduct automated regression testing using in-house or purchased third party Automated Test tools using Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
