Position overview: Oversees the project management of technical projects throughout the project lifecycle, driving technology projects that impact network infrastructure, server infrastructure, complex system implementations or upgrades. Collaborates with the technology infrastructure team to manage projects to completion. Follows all phases of the project and development lifecycle throughout the project including retrospectives for lessons learned. Partners with all sponsors and stakeholders across the Credit Union to ensure project goals are set, and deliverables are met. Monitors project progress and quality across multiple projects at one time. Facilitates weekly project meetings with teams across the organization and communicates effectively at multiple levels. Produces weekly status reports and escalate issues and roadblocks as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of five years’ progressive project management experience with focus on technology-based projects.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple assigned projects across all phases effectively.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to track project tasks through project management software and develop project status reports that accurately reflect the project's status.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with other teams, sponsors, and stakeholders effectively while facilitating open and collaborative dialogue for successful business outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate unpredicted changes to project teams and sponsors.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally in group and individual settings and develop positive internal working relationships.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply solid judgment, initiative, and tact in communications with members and coworkers.
  • Maintains high standards in areas of security, accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation, system input, and correspondence.
  • Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Successful at balancing responsibilities to ensure completion by deadlines.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, particularly Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
  • Must be technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications.
  • Flexibility to deal with unexpected events and occasionally attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours.
  • Standard work hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Initial 30 days will work on-site three days per week, then two days per week after initial training.
  • This position is a hybrid work model.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Preferred experience with core conversions, mergers, system integrations and software upgrades.
  • Experience managing SDLC, from initial requirements gathering and design through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with project management and development software such as Asana, Zoho, Jira, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously collaborates with project teams to develop and maintain complete project plans that include tasks and milestones to meet set deadlines.
  • Ensures that project goals are clearly defined and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manages technology and non-technology projects through the full lifecycle ensuring adherence to phase gates and governance process.
  • Tracks project progress and makes adjustments as needed to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Ensures projects remain within scope by closely collaborating with project sponsors.
  • Manages changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Schedules and facilitates weekly project meetings.
  • Delegates all meeting action items and ensures accurate documentation of meeting notes tasks and milestones.
  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Ensures documentation is accessible and kept current.
  • Works directly with cross-functional teams to ensure project tasks are completed.
  • Document action items and tasks at risk to prevent project slippage.
  • Identifies, documents, and addresses project risks and issues.
  • Partners with project sponsors, PMO, and other leaders to remove project roadblocks and issues.
  • Produces regular status reports for leadership, ensuring transparency and visibility of project progress.
  • Maintains open and effective communications with project sponsors, team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitors the quality of project deliverables and ensures they meet the specified requirements.
  • Manages vendor relationships and ensures deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Conducts regular quality reviews and implements improvements as needed.
