Technical Project Manager

Blue Origin•Space Coast, FL

About The Position

As the Technical Project Manager for Chemical Management & Material Systems, you will own the definition, development, integration, and deployment of technical systems supporting chemical management and floor-stock material availability. You will translate operational needs into system requirements and lead projects from concept through design coordination, implementation, testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance. Projects integrate physical equipment, supplier capabilities, enterprise systems, and material-control processes to deliver reliable, traceable, and scalable services across manufacturing and site operations. The role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, Mission Assurance, and manufacturing and supply-chain support across Blue Origin facilities. Relocation may be provided, travel is expected up to 20% of the time, and interviews will include a technical assessment.

  • Experience delivering technical projects involving physical systems, equipment, software interfaces, or industrial process implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into requirements and coordinate technical solutions from definition through deployment.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, costs, risks, dependencies, and cross-functional deliverables.
  • Experience developing or executing verification plans, acceptance testing, commissioning, or operational readiness reviews.

  • Experience integrating ERP systems, supplier platforms, equipment data, and inventory transactions.
  • Experience implementing systems in aerospace, manufacturing, laboratory, or other technically controlled environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements and project scope, translating operational needs into documented functional and technical requirements, system boundaries, interfaces, deliverables, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Lead technical solution development by coordinating engineering, EHS, quality, operations, procurement, suppliers, and technology teams on solutions for chemical storage and distribution, point-of-use inventory, vending, and automated replenishment.
  • Own integrated project execution, including work breakdown structures, work packages, schedules, resource requirements, and cost estimates; manage dependencies, risks, issues, and changes to deliver approved scope on time and within budget.
  • Integrate physical and digital systems by coordinating interfaces among storage and dispensing equipment, supplier systems, inventory transactions, material-master data, and Costpoint; define data flows, transaction requirements, and exception handling.
  • Build chemical-control capabilities by translating approved requirements for material compatibility, storage limits, labeling, shelf life, lot traceability, and handling into system controls, and obtain required reviews and approvals from accountable technical functions.
  • Direct supplier implementation by defining technical deliverables and deployment plans for GenOx and other providers, and coordinating equipment installation, service integration, readiness reviews, and resolution of technical or operational gaps.
  • Manage deployment and handoff, including implementation sequencing, cutover, training, documentation, and initial operating support; secure acceptance from operating owners and verify performance against project requirements.
  • Report technical, cost, and schedule performance; communicate milestone status, forecast changes, unresolved decisions, and recovery plans; escalate issues with clear impacts and recommended actions.
