Summer 2027 Internship: Technical Project Management

About The Position

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first-hand experience into the fast-paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site-based activities, socials, and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations. The Technical Project Management Intern will gain hands-on experience on how to act as a technical contributor and/or Technical Project Manager across a variety of initiatives.

Requirements

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, STEM, Data Science or a related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school: Auburn University Kansas State University Georgia State University Southern Adventist University Texas A&M University University of Kansas
Previous internship or co-op experience in construction or data center industry highly preferred.
Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Exposure to Project Management responsibilities or principles
Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).

Responsibilities

Leverage Project Management tools like Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, SmartSheets and more
Design project timelines and assign/identify deliverables
Technical writing overview
Researching proposed solutions and workflows
Data cleansing
Maintain updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for assigned projects.
Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning services.
Participate in procurement and project cost estimates.
Develop value statements for potential innovation initiatives (AI/ML/Automation).
Assist with data interpretation, correlation, visualizations, and reporting.
Work on technology procurement and delivery processes with the strategic procurement team.
Monitor the status and availability of in-production technologies.
Respond to break-fix issues and coordinate long-term corrective actions.
Develop and populate new database structures.
Track and resolve security vulnerabilities and associated risks.
