About The Position

Loft Orbital is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Infrastructure team. This role is crucial for delivering complex work efficiently and predictably by bringing structure and clarity to a highly cross-functional environment. The Technical Program Manager will coordinate workloads and programs, support global on-call operations, strengthen team processes, and ensure risks, dependencies, and escalations are visible and managed. The work directly impacts the efficiency of engineering teams and the reliability and scalability of satellite operations. This is a high-autonomy role with broad visibility and significant opportunity to shape work processes. The individual will partner with teams across Infrastructure, Operations, Solutions, Product Engineering, and other functions to impact how Loft manages and scales its satellite fleet.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical program/project management experience in SW and Service Operations
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile development teams (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
  • Analytical mindset plus the ability to develop processes to address operational challenges, automating whenever possible
  • Strong interpersonal skills; capable of influencing others without formal authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop materials for an executive audience
  • Ability to travel at least once per quarter for cross-office collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Background in space industry, tech startups, organizations building both hardware and software solutions
  • Previous experience working with an international team across time zones
  • Experience in product management or working closely with product teams
  • Experience with Python or automation/scripting in software engineering environments and metric generation

Responsibilities

  • Support Cloud, Test and Space Infrastructure teams in workload management, program delivery and cross-functional coordination
  • Support on-call scheduling across global timezones
  • Own the ways of working within the Infrastructure team and ensure our processes are followed and aligned to necessary standards
  • Manage internal Risk register and escalation as appropriate to program and cross-functional deliveries
