Technical Program Manager, Data Center Network Delivery

Google•Atlanta, GA
•$163,000 - $236,000

About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager and Metro Lead within DID, you will lead end-to-end operational governance, capacity deliverables, and program execution across APAC, partnering with ID2, GSO, GGI, Capacity Planning, NDE, Edge, and WAN teams to deliver Google’s network infrastructure footprint. The role combines cross-functional leadership, technical problem-solving, and portfolio governance to drive delivery velocity. You will guide and support delivery program managers, triage engineering and site bottlenecks, anticipate critical-path dependencies, and implement root-cause corrective actions to maintain delivery milestones. Google Technical Program Managers lead complex, multidisciplinary projects from start to finish. They work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners, while explaining recommendations to executives and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers. The Technical Infrastructure team develops and maintains data centers and Google platforms and keeps its networks running to support reliable, fast user experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in data center networking, network architecture, or infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience querying data using SQL and building dashboards or reports using data visualization tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data center networking, optical and WAN transport, edge architectures, or large-scale campus infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience leading regional or metro-level infrastructure programs, aligning cross-functional partner dependencies, and driving on-time milestone delivery.
  • Familiarity with hardware supply chain, inventory staging, material procurement, and logistics concepts.
  • Ability to perform root-cause corrective action (RCCA) analyses to eliminate recurring bottlenecks and optimize end-to-end engineering execution processes.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills, with a track record of building program dashboards, operational scorecards, and executive health reports.
  • Technical acumen and stakeholder management skills to influence cross-functional engineering and operations teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational governance across the North America / South America (NASA) Central network portfolio; drive metro reviews, stakeholder syncs, and executive health summaries covering risk, milestone health, and capacity demand.
  • Monitor velocity across Build-to-Plan (BTP), Colocations (GIM), and Cluster Planning; establish RAID frameworks to unblock critical-path constraints and resolve P0 blockers.
  • Align upstream capacity forecasting with downstream delivery; partner with planning, supply chain, logistics, and network engineering to secure resources, stage materials, and align delivery schedules.
  • Conduct technical due diligence and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) reviews to eliminate recurring bottlenecks, improve SOPs, and reduce delivery cycle times.
  • Provide technical guidance, strategic clarity, and operational frameworks to DID Delivery T/PgMs and project owners across the metro to scale delivery velocity.
