About The Position

Vultr is seeking an experienced Manager, Technical Program Management to lead a team of Program Managers while personally owning delivery of its most strategic, high-priority data center builds. They will also act as the primary point of accountability for strategic data center builds, facilitating technical and executive decision-making, orchestrating stakeholders and vendors, maintaining accurate program health and risk information, and resolving bottlenecks amid uncertainty.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of Program Management experience within a technical or infrastructure-focused organization, with demonstrated progression into technical team leadership.
  • 2+ years of formal people management experience leading direct reports such as Program Managers, TPMs, or Project Managers.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Smartsheet and Jira Plans, including architecting multi-program portfolios, master schedules, and cross-project dependency tracking.
  • Ability to move between executive-level people management and hands-on program execution.
  • Strong foundational understanding of global data center deployments, network topology, power and cooling dependencies, and critical-path requirements for AI and cloud infrastructure rollouts.
  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership without direct authority, mentor junior-to-mid-level managers, and explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep experience establishing program governance, driving operational process adoption, and maintaining delivery health through rapid growth phases.

Responsibilities

  • Formally manage, mentor, and develop a team of 2–3 Program/Project Managers, including overseeing performance, career growth, and daily execution.
  • Balance workload distribution and project assignments across the team to optimize build velocity and prevent single points of failure.
  • Establish best practices, templates, and execution frameworks to improve delivery consistency and program governance.
  • Own end-to-end execution of Vultr’s high-priority, strategic data center builds as the primary point of accountability.
  • Lead and facilitate critical technical workshops, cross-functional architecture reviews, and executive decision-making sessions.
  • Coordinate internal engineering, external vendors, construction partners, and global suppliers.
  • Maintain portfolio health across Smartsheet and Jira Plans, ensuring schedules, dependencies, and risk registries reflect current operational status.
  • Translate technical information and infrastructure milestones into executive dashboards and strategic updates for business leadership.
  • Establish operational structure amid uncertainty, identify bottleneck dependencies early, and drive cross-functional resolution.
